Pianist Ian Frenkel performs a concert in tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr., Saturday in Norwich

Pianist Ian Frenkel will present a concert honoring Martin Luther King. Jr., at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Norwich at St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Frenkel is well-known to local music fans. The former longtime pianist for the United States Coast Guard Band who once accompanied B.B. King at the White House, Frenkel is now director of Cadet Instrumental Music and Bands at the Coast Guard Academy in New London.

St. Mark Lutheran Church is located at 248 Broadway St., Norwich. The performance is free; donations are accepted. Call (860) 867-6826.
