New London clubs host plenty of music on Sailfest weekend
Let's say you owned a club in downtown New London and Sailfest happened. Your best option would be:
A. Lock the doors, turn off the lights and go to Nantucket
B. Lock the doors, turn off the lights and enjoy Sailfest
C. Book some killer bands and be part of the celebration
Far be it from me to tell anyone what to do, but all of those options seem reasonable. In category C, though, popular live music venues 33 Golden Street and the Oasis Pub are primed with plenty of tunes to help provide soundtrack for the weekend.
At 33 Golden Street, Boston's dark-rock band Magic Circle headlines a strong bill that includes Entierro and Oxblood Forge. On Saturday, they host popular local bands Fatal Film, T-Wreck and Horns of Ormus.
And, on Friday, the Oasis Pub's stage features The Nuclears, Marvelous Liars and Las Personas de la Calle.
Magic Circle, 10 p.m. Friday, and Fatal Film, 10 p.m. Saturday, 33 Golden Street, 33 Golden St., New London; $5 nightly; (860) 443-1193.
The Nuclears, 9 p.m. Friday, Oasis Pub, 16 Bank St., New London; $5; (860) 447-3929.
