'So You Think You Can Dance Live!' cha-chas into Foxwoods

    Mariah Russell (Adam Rose/Fox)

I’ve been a fan for so long that I’ve forgotten this fact: “So You Think You Can Dance” started airing in 2005 — a month after the premiere of “Dancing with the Stars.”

It was apparently a time of dance fever!

Both shows (the former on Fox, the latter on ABC) are still going strong 14 years later, but they offer decidedly different experiences for the viewers. “Stars” is about the development (or lack thereof) of B-list celebs in their efforts to tackle various ballroom styles. “So You Think” sets young, top-notch dancers up with A-list choreographers and throws different genres at them, from hip-hop to jazz to Broadway to Bollywood to modern to, yes, ballroom.

“So You Think” just wrapped this season on Sept. 16, but the top-10 finalists are now out on tour. This season’s winner, Bailey Munoz, will lead the group coming to Foxwoods to perform on Sunday. A couple of former contestants — Cyrus “Glitch” Spencer was runner-up, and Lauren Froderman came in first in her season — will also dance on this tour.

So You Think You Can Dance Live!, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Foxwoods’ Grand Theater; $40-$60;1-800-200-2882.
