NFA Playshop presents "A Midsummer Night’s Dream"

NFA Playshop will present William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Norwich Free Academy's Slater Auditorium.

Philip Trostler, drama teacher and director, said, “More than 40 students make up the cast and crew, including many seniors who have been in our program since their freshman year and who have played a large part in cementing Playshop as a full-time program.

“This also marks the second year of the 12th grade English class, Shakespeare & Modern Drama, which has increased interest and knowledge of Shakespeare's work among our students, many of whom are part of the production.”

Playshop students have also designed and created sets, lights, sound, costumes and make-up. The setting of this production is the Roaring 20s, with the city scenes influenced by "The Great Gatsby" and the forest influenced by John Tenniel’s illustrated "Alice in Wonderland."

Tickets, which are available at the door, are $10 for adults and $5 for students, children and seniors.
