Goodspeed Musicals will once again be offering outdoor concerts this summer.

Goodspeed produced the concerts last year after having to cancel its 2020 season of musicals because of the pandemic.

The series, dubbed Goodspeed by the River, will take place under a tent in the parking lot at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, alongside the Connecticut River.

The schedule includes:

-- June 10-20: "Turn Back Time: Ben & Dee Rock the 70s, 80s and Beyond." Singer-songwriter Ben Clark ("The Circus in Winter") and Dee Roscioli ("Wicked") perform songs from the Eagles, Beatles, Bonnie Raitt, Elton John and more.

-- June 22-July 18: "Ambassador of Love: a Celebration of Pearl Bailey." Rashidra Scott ("Anything Goes") performs the songs that made Pearl Bailey famous and shares the stories behind the songs.

-- June 23-July 4: "Bennett & Babs: The Songs of Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand." Jackie Burns ("Wicked") and Joe Cassidy ("Waitress") star in this tribute to Bennett and Streisand.

-- July 7-18: "Together Again: Max & Celeste Sing Their Broadway Favorites." The stars of Goodspeed's "Passing Through" —  Max Chernin and Celeste Rose — reunite for an evening of musical theater songs.

-- July 22-Aug. 1: "Johnny and The Devil's Box: In Concert." Composer/performer Douglas Waterbury-Tieman and Annabelle Fox join a bluegrass band for a concert version of the new musical "Johnny and the Devil's Box."

Additional events are expected to be announced.

Tickets are $45 per event. If people buy tickets for three or more events, they save $5 per ticket. Tickets are only available through the box office at (860) 873-8668 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Distancing will be maintained within the tent by leaving empty seats between each party. From June 10 to July 4, there will be two empty seats between parties. From July 7 to September 5, there will be one empty seat between parties. Empty seats will be clearly labeled.
