Chubby Checker sings Friday at Mohegan Sun
If you go to Chubby Checker’s Friday show at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den and don’t get up and dance, well, that’s your fault.
Here’s why: Checker could be the performer whose songs popularized or related to the most dances. He is most famously associated with The Twist. While he recorded “The Twist,” his biggest hit was 1961’s “Let’s Twist Again.”
And he revisited The Twist theme with such tunes as “Twistin’ USA” and “Slow Twistin’.”
But wait, there’s more! Beyond The Twist, Checker released “Pony Time,” which was associated with the Pony dance style. Another of his singles was “Limbo Rock,” tied, of course, to the limbo.
You get the point: The music at this concert will make you want to move.
