Kat & Brad sing Thursday at Strange Brew
It's been almost three years since Kat Parks and Brad Benkso released their debut "Kat & Brad" CD. However, given that the hyper-hooky recording is steeped in the glories of '50s and '60s pop and country — music over half a century old — what's 36 months?
Given the formulaic and lazy melodicism of modern pop, Kat & Brad sound more vibrant and refreshing than most artists hitting today's charts. They perform in Norwich at the Stranger Brew Pub Thursday. Hear the past through their entrancing musical kaleidoscope.
Kat & Brad, 8 p.m. Thursday, Strange Brew Pub, 86 Water St., Norwich; $10; (860) 885-1975.
