After having to postpone their Take My Hand World Tour due to the pandemic, the band 5 Seconds of Summer (or 5SOS) will finally return to Connecticut, and to the excitement of thousands of eager fans.

The group — made up of talented Australian musicians and vocalists Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Calum Hood — appears Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The tour’s namesake is taken from the single “Take My Hand,” which dropped in May of this year. The single teased the band’s upcoming studio album, which is titled “5SOS5” as of now and is scheduled to be released on Sept. 23.

The world tour will be the precursor to the highly anticipated “5SOS5.” Two other singles — “Me Myself and I” and “Complete Mess” — have hinted at what fans might expect from the fifth album.

The band, which holds 12 European and American MTV Video Music Awards among a multitude of other accolades, kicked off the world tour in Vancouver, Canada, on June 11. From there, 5SOS is performing across the globe — including right here.
