On Sunday, Dec. 9, look for the bright red Christmas Caddy parked on the Branford Town Green, where new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to be delivered to families in need through the Branford Counseling Center this holiday. Branford teen Christopher Pantani is continuing a tradition started last year by his cousin Chandler Fowler as a legacy to their grandfather, Bruce Pantani, who passed away in 2008. The idea is to collect toys in their grandfather's 1965 cherry red Coup de Ville, then drive them down to the Branford Counseling Center.
"He is the person that instilled the values of giving in us," said Pantani of his grandfather. "For over 40 years, my Mimi and Pa have donated toys, gifts, and food through Branford Counseling Center to help kids in our town. I am going to carry on his legacy of giving because I believe everyone has the ability to make a child's Christmas better, and the Christmas Caddy is the first step."
