Chief Revenue Officer
Shawn Palmer re-joined The Day in May 2019 as Chief Revenue Officer. He is responsible for print and digital advertising revenue at The Day, The Times Community News Group, D2 Media Solutions and Shore Publishing. In addition, he oversees advertising design, digital fulfillment, marketing, circulation and digital audience growth.
From 2013-2019 Shawn was SVP, Chief Revenue Officer at RJ Media Group, publisher of the Record-Journal in Meriden. He also served as General Manager of The Westerly Sun and launched Homebase Digital, a digital marketing agency in the Central CT and Southern RI markets. Prior to RJ Media, Shawn was Publisher of The News-Times in Danbury from 2010 to 2013. Previously, he was Director of Sales & Business Development for AdPerfect, a software developer of print & online solutions for publishers. Prior to AdPerfect, Shawn spent 5 years as Director of Advertising at The Day. Before joining The Day, Shawn spent nearly 7 years at The Star-Ledger in Newark, NJ where he served as Classified Sales Manager, before being named the paper’s first Direct Marketing Sales Manager. Shawn began his career at The Hartford Courant where he held a variety of advertising sales and management roles.
Shawn is currently the President of the Connecticut Daily Newspapers Association and has served on many community and professional organizations throughout his career. He holds a B.A. in history/business from Providence College and an M.B.A in marketing from Seton Hall University. He and his wife Janis are the parents of three children.
