Save the Children staff missing
Westport - Westport-based Save the Children says about of a third of its staff in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, remains unaccounted for, even as the group begins its earthquake relief effort.
Carolyn Miles, Save the Children's chief operating officer, says the group is still trying to reach about 18 staff members in the wake of Tuesday's earthquake.
She says the group has about 100 people in Haiti, about 60 of them in Port-au-Prince, and most were in the office when the earthquake hit. She says several outside walls of their building came down, but the office is usable.
She says the group is using a couple of motorbikes and working to distribute water, tarps and other supplies.
