Preston - After sending out more than 60 requests for qualifications last month to development companies that had expressed interest in the 390-acre Preston Riverwalk site, the agency received two responses - from World LLC of Enfield and Thames River Landing LLC of Farmington.

Members of the agency's review team plan to evaluate both responses and determine which developer will receive an invitation to submit a request for proposal.

Interim Chairman Kent Borner said there are developers who are interested in the property but chose not to respond to the request for qualifications. He said the developers that did not respond to the request for qualifications plan to submit a response to the agency's open request for proposals.

The agency plans to send out requests for proposals by Aug. 18.
