Author Diana Sheets talks about her chic-lit parody
Few genres are more deserving of parody than chic-lit. And "American Suite" gladly steps up to the do the honors.
The book is by Diana Sheets, who happens to be a Mystic native. She still lives part-time here, spending the rest of her time in Champaign, Illinois, where she has a research scholar appointment in the English and history departments at the University of Illinois.
Her novel, published by Jorge Pinto Books, is about "how a dyed-in-the-wool single New Yorker adapts to life in the land of 'Overly Friendly People.'" Sheets will be talking about "American Suite" and signing copies Saturday at Bank Square Books.
