Hairstylist charged with attacking dissatisfied, pregnant client

New London - Police arrested a hairstylist working at Eva's Beauty Salon on Ocean Avenue Saturday after she allegedly attacked a dissatisfied, pregnant client with a pair of scissors.

Jovetta Wilson, 33, of 392 Jefferson Ave., allegedly struck the victim in the face, neck and hand after the customer complained about being unhappy with a haircut, said Deputy Chief Marshall Segar. The injured victim was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, and told police she was pregnant, Segar said.

Wilson was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault, assault on a pregnant person, and risk of injury to a minor. She was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Feb. 25, police said.

The salon owner could not be reached to comment.
