Sun top defending champ Storm

Mohegan — Tina Charles had 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Connecticut Sun beat the defending WNBA champion Seattle Storm Friday, 75-70, before 7,748 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Kara Lawson had 16 points and seven assists for the Sun (6-3) and Renee Montgomery added 11 points and eight assists.

Swin Cash scored 17 of her game-high 25 points in the second half for Seattle (4-3).
