Niantic woman wins Foxwoods' $1 million bingo jackpot
Mashantucket — A Niantic woman won the $1 million jackpot Saturday at Foxwoods Resort Casino’s Firecracker Bingo event marking the 25th anniversary of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe’s high-stakes bingo operation.
Jennifer McKenzie was the jackpot winner, Foxwoods said in a press release.
In addition, Victoria Rawlings of Newport News, Va., won the event’s ultimate door prize, a 2011 Chevrolet Corvette valued at more than $73,000.
The Mashantuckets opened their bingo hall in 1986, six years before Foxwoods opened. With seating for 3,500 people, it is the largest high-stakes bingo hall in the country.
