New London-based technology firm JobTarget has announced the opening of a satellite sales office in Windsor to help connect job seekers with employers.

JobTarget, just named to the Connecticut Technology Council's list of the 40 fastest-growing technology firms in Connecticut for 2011, will staff the Windsor office with five people selling job-recruitment advertising for its partner companies. Ethan Bloomfield, the company's vice president for business development, will act as office manager.

"The decision to open an office in Windsor gives us access to an additional talent pool in the Hartford region," Tristan Jordan, JobTarget's vice president for marketing and partner relations, said in a phone interview Friday. "It widens the net we can cast as far as capturing talent."

Jordan said selling recruitment advertising for its partners' niche job boards is the fastest-growing side of JobTarget's business.

The addition of five new positions increases the number of JobTarget employees to 90. Sixty-five employees work out of the company's headquarters on State Street, while 20 others work remotely.

Jordan said business is growing, despite the nation's high and fairly stable unemployment numbers.

"Employers increasing are using niche job boards instead of the (general-interest) job boards," Jordan said. "We're hearing, 'We don't want more candidates, we want the right candidates.' "

JobTarget, founded by president and chief executive Andrew Banever, has been one of the fastest-growing tech firms in Connecticut for the past four years.

Banever said the growth has been tied to the company's willingness to devote resources to sell advertising and split revenues with its partners.

"We have the staff, technology and expertise to help our 1,100 partners grow their job board and career center businesses," Banever said in a statement.
