Nicole Ivonne Arpin, daughter of Russell and Vicki Arpin of Cheshire is engaged to Michael Taz Petersen, son of Taz and Colleen Petersen of Groton.

Nicole, a 2005 graduate of Cheshire High School, received her BA in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2009. She is a medical assistant for Dr. Hasbani in New Haven.

Michael, a 2002 graduate of Fitch Senior High School received his BA in journalism from the University of Connecticut in 2007. He is currently serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army.

A November 20, 2012 wedding is planned.
