Henry's book added to Library of Congress

The accolades just keep piling up for James Henry, the former Stonington lobsterman who did not learn to read and write until he was in his 90s and last year published his first book, "In a Fisherman's Language," at age 98.

U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, said last week that he found Henry's story so inspiring that he encouraged the Library of Congress to add Henry's book to its permanent collection.

"Captain Henry's story will continue to inspire for generations to come," he said.

Henry has been profiled in local publications such as The Day and in national media, including People magazine and CNN. On Thursday, Henry is slated to address 500 people attending an adult education convention at the Mystic Marriott.
