League of Women Voters kick off a voter registration effort

New London - The League of Women Voters of Southeastern Connecticut will kick off a voter registration effort with sessions in New London.

League volunteers will be at The Williams School on Friday morning and at NSA (formerly C Town) Supermarket in the New London Shopping Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

On May 17, the League will visit English classes at New London High School, reviewing historic struggles to obtain the vote and registering students who are 18 or who will turn 18 on or before Nov. 6 Election Day.

On May 22, volunteers will be at Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School to register parents of students at an open house there from 5- 7 p.m.

The League is reaching out to schools and other outlets throughout southeastern Connecticut.
