Police: Woman side-swipes vehicle on Route 2
North Stonington – Police said an Uncasville woman swerved into another car Monday night on Route 2, causing a crash, and then she left the scene.
While traveling west on Route 2 around 10:45 p.m., police said Evette N. Jackson-Jaques, 38, crossed the yellow line near the XtraMart convenience store and side-swiped an eastbound car. Police said Jackson-Jaques fled and was found later by police hiding in front of a store down the road.
Neither driver was injured, police said, but both cars were towed away.
Jackson-Jaques of 107 Fort Shantok Road, Uncasville, was charged with driving with a suspended license, no insurance, evading responsibility and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Police said Jackson-Jaques was released on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear June 4 in New London Superior Court.
