    Unbridled joy with USS Toledo return

    Mallorie Geiger, 14, daughter of Commander Sam Geiger, commanding officer of the Los Angeles Class attack submarine USS Toledo, (SSN 769), leaps into her father's arms as the submarine returns to the U.S. Navy Submarine Base in Groton, Conn., Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, following a nearly seven-month deployment.

    Groton - Family and friends waited with welcome signs Friday morning for the arrival of the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Toledo, (SSN 769).

    In a nearly seven-month deployment, the crew visited ports in Haifa, Israel; Bahrain; Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates and Lisbon, Portugal. The USS Toledo was deployed to the European Command area of responsibility on a maritime and national security operations.
