Governor launches website for veterans

Hartford – Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman launched a new website Friday in an effort to direct military veterans to government services and benefits, according to a statement from the governor's office.

The website,, links veterans to state and federal agencies that offer services such as job training, health care and education.

“With two wars winding down, we have a responsibility to make sure that state government is in a position to honor their service,” Malloy said in the statement. “Creating a one-stop resource for veterans to access benefits and services is a small but important step in that effort.”

About 7,000 veterans will return to the state over the next two years, according to the press release.

Malloy and Wyman also announced the creation of a 14-member Governor’s Veterans Cabinet, which they will co-chair, consisting of agency commissioners and other executive branch representatives.
