Participants sought for light parade

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is looking for its members who wish to join in the Groton Holiday Lights Parade that begins at 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21. The event is sponsored by Groton Utilities and Thames Valley Communications.

Each year, the chamber has a float in the parade. Any member interested in walking in the annual parade can contact the chamber at 860-701-9113.

Following the parade, a tree lighting ceremony is planned and there will be opportunities for children to have their photos taken with Santa. The parade begins at South Road and continues along Route 1 before ending at the Groton Shopping Plaza.
