Waterford - Two people were taken to the hospital this morning with minor injuries following a two-car crash on the southbound lanes of Route 32, police said.
Route 32 South, in the vicinity of Hempstead Drive, was closed for about 45 minutes following the 8:47 a.m. crash. The road was reopened at about 9:30 a.m.
Lt. Brett Mahoney said one driver was cited for failing to stop at a red light at the intersection of Route 32 and Old Norwich Road, which caused the crash.
Waterford police, along with personnel from the Quaker Hill and Cohanzie fire departments, responded. The two drivers were treated and released from Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
