Geoff Fox fired by TV station

FOX CT meteorologist Geoff Fox was fired Friday for what the company, in a statement, called "inappropriate conduct."

The statement said that the conduct was brought to the attention of station executives late Thursday, but provided no further details.

"As this is a personnel matter, FOX CT will offer no further comment or details surrounding Mr. Fox's dismissal," the statement said.

Fox began working for FOX CT in April 2011 after a long career at WTNH-TV, Channel 8, in New Haven. Fox could not be reached to comment.

FOX CT and The Hartford Courant are both owned by Chicago-based Tribune Co. and work together in news coverage.
