Talking cheese

The Essex Library will host "Cheese 101" on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6:45 p.m. Cheese-monger and 45-year expert Paul Partica, owner of The Cheese Shop of Centerbrook, will lead a tasting tour through several types of cheese, from fresh to bloomy to blue and beyond. Learn about the difference between families of cheese through sampling and observation.
The class is free and expected to fill up quickly. Advance registration is required, so call the Essex Library to register for the event at (860) 767-1560. The Essex Library is at 33 West Ave.
