Scupper loved Seaport right until the end

How Scupper the cat managed to discover the Mystic Seaport Museum is beyond my wildest imagination. What I do know is that he loved it there. He made a rhumb line for it every time I opened the door. Maybe it was the music of the chantey group being sung or the beautiful gardens, the smell of wood or the numerous buildings that he could snoop around.

Unfortunately, there was a road to cross. Sadly, Scupper was hit and killed by a car the night of Nov. 16. The Seaport staff took his lifeless body out of the road, lay him in a box with a flower and was able to locate me. Because of that, I was able to give my beloved cat a proper burial.

I am grateful to the Mystic Seaport staff for all they did and to express how much that meant to me. I know that Scupper is enjoying the Big Seaport in the sky, listening to chanty songs, exploring the gardens and continuing on his journey.
