    Make a difference: New London Community Meal Center

    WHO: Ann and her children: three boys ages 16, 11 and 6 and a 9-year-old daughter.

    AGENCY: New London Community Meal Center, 12 Montauk Ave., a year-round kitchen that serves any hungry person who stops in.

    SITUATION: Ann, a single mother, suffers from depression which has worsened since her divorce. She is unable to work.

    WHAT TO GIVE: Clothes, toys and gift cards for winter gear or food. The 16-year-old wears size large; the 11-year-old wears size 32 pants and large shirts; the 6-year-old wears size 7/8 pants and small shirts; the 9-year-old daughter wears size 10/12 pants and Ann wears slacks sized 8/10 and medium to small tops. The younger boys like anything to do with Thomas the Tank Engine or Barney, model cars and DVDs. The girl likes dolls, especially Barbies and Cabbage Patch.
