    Owens- Ebbinghaus

    Alycia Beth Ebbinghaus and William Orvar Owens celebrated their marriage on May 19, 2012, at Old House Vineyards in Culpeper, Va. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Ridgeway Addison, and included readings by Kimberly Martin, a friend and mentor. A reception was held at the vineyard with family and close friends.

    The bride is the daughter of Jude and Charles Ebbinghaus of Groton, and granddaughter of the late Elizabeth and Thomas Ebbinghaus, and the late Francis and June Donohue, and the late Alice Frawley Donohue. The groom is the son of Mimi and David Owens of Charleston, S.C., and grandson of the late Melva and Orvar Swenson of Charleston, and the late Lucy and William A. Owens of Danville, Ill.

    The maid of honor was Cheryl Ebbinghaus, sister of the bride. The best man was Evan Owens, brother of the groom. The Bridal party also included Lindsay Matias, Ashley Crawford, Elizabeth Frederick, Lenora Stiles, Lauren Serpe, Scott Atack, Matthew Boening, Amit Mathur, Nathan Slusher, Patrick Quirk, Jordan Yering, Thomas Yering, and Thomas Williams.

    The bride is a 2001 graduate of Robert E. Fitch Senior High School and a 2007 graduate of American University's School of International Service with a master's degree in international peace & conflict resolution.

    The groom is a 1998 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, Texas and a 2006 graduate of American University's School of International Service with a master's degree in international politics.

    The couple lives in Washington, D.C. and both work in international development.
