Mohegans, Chamber to present Whole Life Expo

The Mohegan Tribe and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut announced today that they are combining forces to present a spring expo that will emphasize health products and services as well as medical screenings.

The Whole Life Expo, to be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 18 at the Mohegan Sun’s Uncas Ballroom as a benefit for the chamber’s foundation, will be dedicated to funding year-round efforts to improve health in the region.

“The chamber is honored to have been asked by the tribe to be its partner,” Tony Sheridan, president and chief executive of the chamber, said in a statement. “We all know that living well includes all aspects of life — mind, body spirit — and that is why we will have exhibitors to present a truly unique range of things that are valuable for all.”

Among the expo’s offerings will be demonstrations of wellness apps, cooking demonstrations, cleaning services, pool and spa products, financial planning, beauty experts, travel agencies and non-profits dedicated to healthy living. Traditional and alternative healthcare practitioners will be represented.

Tribal Chairman Bruce “Two Dogs” Bozsum said the Mohegans’ decision to reach out to the chamber reflects the tribe’s strong sense of community.

“Over the years, the tribe has demonstrated a strong commitment to health issues, and the Whole Life Expo is a way to give back to the community,” Bozsum said in a statement.
