Recalling a great public safety day in Montville

As chairman of the Montville Public Safety Committee, I would like to say that the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony held at the new public safety building at 911 Norwich New London Turnpike in Montville on Saturday, Jan. 12 was a tremendous success. Approximately 500 residents and 100 children toured the complex following the opening ceremony. I was extremely proud to work with such a wonderful committee, especially because we did not let the taxpayers of Montville down. We were able to complete the project on time and under budget.

I would like to recognize the members of the Montville Public Safety Committee for a job well done; Marcia Vlaun, Montville's Town Planner, for keeping everyone on their toes and in line; John MacNeil and his committee for making the open house so successful; Stop & Shop of Montville for donating the refreshments; Boy Scout Troop 93 for preparing and serving the refreshments; Montville Florist and Dime Bank for their participation. I appreciate the news media for their coverage of the events in such a positive way.

It was a great day in Montville.
