Only a handful still without power

Rink workers clear snow from this weekend's blizzard off of the rink at Parade Plaza in downtown New London Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.

The number of outages that Connecticut Light & Power reported fluctuated Tuesday and for hours included 133 outages in Old Lyme — 2 percent of the town’s customers.

Wires that came down on Sill Lane in Old Lyme at 3 p.m. caused the outages, according to CL&P. That incident also affected residents on Saunders Hollow Road, Matson Ridge, Wolcott Lane and Mill Pond Lane, said Mitch Gross, CL&P spokesman.

CL&P was on site Tuesday afternoon, he said. Power was restored to all 133 customers by evening.

At its peak, CL&P reported that 39,000 were in the dark during the blizzard.
