New London - Joshua Ford scored 26 points and had eight rebounds, leading the Mitchell College men's basketball team to a 100-81 win over Wheelock College Saturday in the New England Collegiate Conference.

Alex Del Rio had 11 points and nine assists, Anthony Epps scored 12 and Devonta Mosley and Michael Pellegrini each came off the bench to score 10 for the Mariners (13-11, 9-7), who will play in the NECC tournament next week. Bashir Hudson scored 28 for Wheelock (3-21, 2-14).

• Kenny Ross scored 19 points and had nine rebounds, leading Babson to a 72-45 win over Coast Guard Academy in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference game. Devonte Weems scored 12 and Joe Whitman had 10 points for Coast Guard, which finishes its season at 2-21, 1-11.

Women's basketball

• Kaylee Cerruto scored 17 points and had seven assists, leading Mitchell to a 70-43 win over Wheelock in the NECC. Kate Mulloy had 12 points and 11 rebounds, Amanda Garcia scored 13 and Savannah Boyle came off the bench for 13 points and seven rebounds for Mitchell (7-17, 7-11).

• Coast Guard was outscored 37-18 in the second half and lost to WPI 59-49 in a NEWMAC game. Victoria Sutherland scored 12 points and had nine rebounds, Dani Knox had 10 points and Karli Collins had six assists for Coast Guard (10-14, 8-10). WPI (14-10, 9-9) hosts Coast Guard in the first round of the NEWMAC tournament Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Women's hockey

• Courtney Dumont scored twice, the 39th and 40th of her career, to become the career scoring leader as Connecticut College beat Williams 4-2 in a NESCAC game. Conn (13-10-1, 7-8-1) set a program record for single-season wins and plays in the NESCAC tournament next weekend. Sam Schoeneberger and Samantha Schuffenecker also scored, Olivia Farrell had two assists and Kelsie Fralick made 28 saves for Conn.

Men's hockey

• Kyle Lockwood scored with 1.8 seconds left in overtime to lift Bowdoin to a 2-1 win over Conn College in the NESCAC. Steve Servideo scored, Adam Patel and Tim DiPretoro had assists and Tom Conlin made 34 saves for Conn, which ends the season at 7-14-3, 3-12-3.

Men's indoor track

• Mike LeDuc ran a 8:30.30 to win the 3,000 meter race as Conn College tied for 11th place (22 points), the program's best performance, at the New England Division III Championship at Bates College. Tristan Cole finished fifth in the 1,000 (2:33.78), Patrick Dermody was fifth in the 5,000 (15:05.19) and Andrew Duarte took sixth in the one-mile run (4:17.75). Also, Geoff Phaneuf, Niall Williams, Cole and Duarte placed eighth in the distance medley relay (10:29.85).

• Coast Guard junior All-American Adam Scalesse placed third in the 60-meter hurdles and was part of the 4x400 meter relay team which placed third to earn All-New England honors at the New England Division III meet. Scalesse, who ran a meet best 8.20 in the qualifying heat, placed third with a time of 8.40 in the finals.

Ben Hannon earned All-New England honors with a fifth place finish in the 400 (50.55). Hannon also teamed with James Dawkins, Fred Higgins and Scalesse for a third place finish with a time of 3:24.20. Thomas Bondurant placed sixth in the weight throw (53 feet, 5½ inches) to earn All-New England honors.

Clay Kosack placed seventh in the heptathlon with 4,206 points earning All-New England honors and the Bears' 4x800 relay team of James Martin, Zack Kearney, Joe Kelly and Jordan Lee placed sixth (8:04.63) to earn All-New England honors. Coast Guard finished ninth with 24 points.

Women's indoor track

• Coast Guard's Abby Bishop placed fifth in the pentathlon with 2,950 points to earn All-New England honors at the New England Division III Championships. She placed fourth in the the long jump (16-2¼) and the shot put (30-2) in the pentathlon. Also, the distance relay team of Kristin Euchler, Madison Ahlers, Rachel Hill and Beth Gollin placed fifth with a time of 12:31.76.

Coast Guard was 20th with eight points. Conn College finished tied for 23rd with one point. Conn's Sarah Matthews earned All-New England honors with an eighth-place finish in the 600 with a school-record time of 1:39.36.

Wrestling

• Coast Guard went 1-2 during a quad-meet at home, defeating Bridgewater State 26-24 before losing to Rhode Island College 38-12 and Trinity 34-9. In the win over Bridgewater, the Bears (5-12) picked up three impressive wins from freshmen - a pin by Tom Porzillo at 133 pounds, a technical fall by Marc Wagner at 184 and a 14-10 decision by Dean Gilbert at 174. James Kidwell earned a 3-2 decision at 157 against Trinity while both CGA wins against RIC came via forfeits.
