Shake off the cold at Child & Family's "Defroster" — RESCHEDULED!!

Penguin #1 (in cognito); Michael J. McLaughlin, bronze, edition 7/10.

When the Lyme/Old Lyme Auxiliary of Child & Family Agency named its winter event “The Defroster,” the committee workers never dreamed that Southeastern Connecticut would get hit by a blizzard on the very day the event was to take place! But hit it did, as we all know, and we’re still dealing with leftover snow piles from Storm Nemo. If you’ve had enough of the snow, ice, and cold, and you’re looking for a way to warm up, then get yourself to the Cooley Gallery in Old Lyme for The Defroster, a party with festive drinks, great food, and live music, which has now been rescheduled for Friday, MARCH 8, 2013, from 6 to 9 pm

Come in from the cold and warm up with delectable hors d’oeuvres from Coffee’s Country Market and other area merchants, while you sip your favorite beer or wine—or try a seasonal signature drink. Stroll through the gallery and view the Cooley’s outstanding collection of American art, and enjoy the music provided by local ensembles.

Tickets for The Defroster are $50 per person. Advance tickets may be purchased by sending a check (payable to Child & Family Agency) to Diane Brown at 15 Hamburg Road, Lyme, CT 06371; or purchase online at www.childandfamilyagency.org. For more information, call (860) 434-7555. Tickets purchased for the original date will, of course, be honored on the rescheduled date. The Cooley Gallery is located at 25 Lyme Street in Old Lyme.

Proceeds from The Defroster benefit the services and capital projects of Child & Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut, a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the well-being and development of all children and their families, in particular giving priority to the unmet needs of children lacking physical, emotional, and intellectual care and nurturing.
