Storm causes slippery commute
Wet heavy snow that continues to fall across the region this morning has led to a slippery commute with police reporting numerous fender benders and spin-outs, though no major accidents locally.
Snow and gusty winds are expected to continue until at least 1 p.m., with a wintry mix possible before the precipitation tapers off later this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Snow fall totals are predicted to reach anywhere between 3 and 5 inches in southeastern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect for New Haven, New London, Middlesex, Litchfield and Fairfield counties until noon. There is a coastal flood advisory for all of coastal Connecticut until 11 a.m.
