    Tight squeeze in New London

Lisa Robinson, left, of New London watches her father, Henry Robinson, right, and his friend Nate Moore, both of New London, as they attempt to stuff her newly purchased couch into the Building C elevator of the Thames River Apartment complex in New London. Robinson purchased the couch at the New London Salvation Army store and tried unsuccessfully to return the couch when she discovered it would not fit in the elevator. Since she had nothing to lose, they decided to do whatever it took to get the couch up to her seventh-floor apartment. After her father broke a few boards, it fit. He told his daughter he could repair the broken boards.
