Ledyard's Fustini earns pair of all-state honors

Ledyard's Kylie Fustini, who led the Colonels to the Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division girls' basketball title and a berth in the Class L quarterfinals, has earned a pair of major honors from the Connecticut High School Coaches' Association.

Fustini, a senior, was named to the CHSCA Class L all-state team and was also selected to the All-Academic team, a group that included student-athletes from all four classes.

In addition, St. Bernard junior Casey Sullivan was named to the Class S all-state team and Montville senior Rachel Orbe joined Fustini on the academic all-state team.

Four boys made CHSCA all-state teams and two more were named to the academic all-state team.

New London senior Keith Porter was selected to the Class LL all-state team, Ledyard's senior Thomas Whipple and Stonington junior Jackson Donahue earned Class M all-state honors and Old Lyme senior George Logan made the Class S all-state team.

The academic all-state picks were Norwich Free Academy's Patrick Kudej in Class LL and Ledyard's Chris Gill in Class M.
