Developer seeks changes to Mystic condo project

Mystic - The owners of the former Mystic Color Lab property have asked to appear before the Stonington Planning and Zoning Commission on May 7 to outline changes it would like to make to a previously approved luxury condominium project on the site. Developers of that $30 million project tore down the building and completed some site work before the recession hit and the project ceased amid financial problems.

Town Planner Keith Brynes said Edgewood Mac LL of Southport, which acquired the mortgage to the property in 2009, plans to retain the same number of units, 55, but proposes changes to the site plan that will need commission approval. An Edgewood representative wrote to the commission that it would like to informally present its plan to the commission to hear any comments and concerns. Edgewood officials have not responded to calls in the past two weeks.
