East Lyme — State police said tonight that a missing East Lyme man was found dead today just before 1 p.m. under an enclosed portion of a beach house at 14 Atlantic Street.

On April 25 state police issued a silver alert for Timothy Sullivan, 39, after being contacted by his parents in Florida who said he had not been seen or heard from in seven to 10 days.

Police said Sullivan had a history of alcoholism, depression and suicide attempts. They said no crime is suspected in connection with his death.

Police said the owner of the home had gone to check on the house when she found Sullivan lying on the concrete at 12:58 p.m.

Police, firefighters, a paramedic and a staff member from the Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner responded to the scene. Police said nothing suspicious was found at the scene. Sullivan’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
