New London - City police today confirmed they are investigating a report of a sexual assault that occurred early Saturday.

Police said the person reporting the assault indicated it had occurred in an alleyway off Bank Street, though police said the exact location has not been confirmed.

New London Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said that due to the nature of the complaint and the ongoing investigation, no further information would be released at this time.
