Laying turf for fall football at Stonington High

Stonington - Workers put the finishing touches on the new approximately $1 million artificial turf football field at Stonington High School Monday. The field, which voters approved as part of a $2.7 million renovation of the athletic fields will be ready for the start of fall high school sports practices on Aug. 19.
The field was installed by RAD Sports of Rockland, Mass., which has installed numerous artificial turf fields for high school, college and professional teams. Work will now begin on renovations to the softball, boys soccer and field hockey fields.
