Montville police make arrests at sobriety checkpoint
Montville — Montville police and state police made two drunken driving arrests Friday during a sobriety checkpoint.
Arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs were: Nicholas V. Polizzi, 67, of 12 Burlake Road, Quaker Hill; and Liza Sitterly, 44, of 463 Old Colchester Road, Uncasville.
Police also arrested four people for possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and one person for possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued infractions for such a range of motor vehicle violations, including failure to wear a seat belt and driving with a suspended license. Names of those charged with the lesser crimes were not provided.
Montville police were assisted by members of the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Traffic Enforcement Team.
