    Catie Talarski is the senior producer for WNPR's public affairs program "Where We Live," hosted by John Dankosky. A Connecticut native, Talarski also hosts a monthly radio listening session in Hartford called "the ear cave." You can read about her future listening events here.

    Let's play radio time machine. Whose first day on the air would you like to have tuned in for?

    1. I would love to snuggle up beside the old-fashioned radio and listen to the first episode of "The Guiding Light," the longest running radio drama of all time (1937-1956), about a minister "who devotes his life to the needs of others." I used to watch the TV version religiously as a kid, which was strictly about drama and sex. (NOTE: Now thanks to the Internet, we can enjoy all sorts of old-timey radio.)

    Name an item you can't live without: Cell phone.

    Item you should live without and keep meaning to get rid of:

    Very large combo desk/bookcase in my bedroom. Less is more.

    Last book you couldn't put down: "American Eve: Evelyn Nesbit, Stanford White, The Birth of the 'It' Girl, and The Crime of the Century" by Paula Uruburu.

    You're a DJ at a club. What's the night's last song:

    Whitney Houston - "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" (Possibly a remix.)

    What's a good first date spot in Hartford?

    East West Grille. (Which I just Googled and it's actually in West Hartford. You should still check it out.) In Hartford: Lucky Taco Truck for lunch, and then have a picnic in Bushnell Park.

    What's a word you can never spell correctly on the first try: Exercise.

    What's the last TV show you binge-watched? "Luther"

    What's your go-to pair of headphones? I'm not a headphone snob. At home: Sony Noise Canceling At work: AKG K240 Studio

    Which is better, New York or Los Angeles? New York.

    Saturday night or Sunday morning? Sunday Morning: Sleeping in; bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, iced coffee, crosswords on the porch.

    Sorbet or ice cream? Ice cream, with a Lactaid pill on the side.

    Sudoku or crossword? CROSSWORD. Sudoku is for the birds.

    Name a film, TV show or stage production that most accurately depicts life in radio: "Revenge of the Nerds"

    What did you think you were going to be when you grew up? An actress.

    What historical event would you like to have been witness to? Dinosaurs.

    What is your favorite local place to recharge and/or find serenity?

    Black Point CT, where my family had a house when I was a kid. I still sneak onto the beaches, don't tell anyone.

    What's your favorite board game? Scrabble.

    Did you ever have a pen pal? My cousin Gabby, who lived in New Hampshire.
