Novelist Wally Lamb Comes to Chester

Wally Lamb, whose blockbuster novels and his work with female prisoners at York Correctional Institution over the last two decades have made him one of America's most influential authors, will read from his new best-seller, We Are Water, at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 at Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek (CBSRZ) in Chester. The program, part of the synagogue's Books & Bagels series, is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.

We Are Water, as almost all of Lamb's work, is set in Connecticut and chronicles the story of an artist named Annie-a middle-aged mother of three-who falls in love with a Manhattan art dealer, the woman who orchestrated Annie's artistic success. The love story, however, uncovers many toxic secrets and builds to a compelling climax.

CBSRZ is at 55 East Kings Highway in Chester. For more information, call 860-526-8920.
