H.S. girls' basketball: Waterford rallies in fourth to beat Montville

Waterford - Vanessa Kobyluck scored 15 points and Waterford High School rallied from a five-point deficit after three quarters to defeat Montville, 52-46, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference girls' basketball game on Tuesday night.

The Lancers (11-7, 6-4), who earned second-place outright in the division behind champion New London, outscored Montville 19-8 in the fourth quarter.

Shea Spellman added 12 points and Kelly Dugan 11 for Waterford while Cassidy Bundy scored a game-high 19 points for the Indians (10-9, 5-5) and Jamie Hill added 13.

In other games:

• New London scored 27 of the game's first 29 points en route to its 58-30 win over Stonington in the ECC Medium Division. Charee Osbourne had 14 points and seven rebounds and Deanna McCarvell scored 19 for the division champion Whalers (15-1, 9-0).

Also, Jada Lucas made three 3-pointers and scored 12. Margot Calmar had eight points and 17 rebounds for the Bears (13-7, 5-5), who shot just 25.7 percent.

• Jenna Schumacher had 12 points and Colleen Durkee added eight in East Lyme's 43-38 win over Fitch in the ECC Large. The Vikings improved to 12-6, 6-4. Mackenzie Aldridge had 16 points and Caroline Entwhistle added six points and eight rebounds for the Falcons (4-14, 2-8).

• Katie Morgan had 15 points and Kenzie Brayman had 13 points and eight rebounds, pacing Wheeler past Griswold, 42-28, in the ECC Small. The Lions are 4-12, 2-6.

• Briana Padewski had 14 points as Lyman Memorial stunned St. Bernard, 40-38, in the ECC Small. Casey Sullivan had 18 points for St. Bernard (14-4, 7-2) and Brittany Walenta scored 12.

• April Littlefield scored three points in Norwich Tech's 42-11 loss to Putnam. The Warriors fell to 3-14.
