Ledyard wins CIAC Class M wrestling title

Devon MarcAurele (170 pounds) and Daric Johnson (220) both won state championships and helped Ledyard win its state-record 20th CIAC title on Saturday at the Class M championships at Law of Milford.

Ledyard had 193 points, followed by Waterford (168).

St. Bernard's Matt Dowler (106) and Brentt Smith (120) and Sam Lindblom (132) of Waterford also won Class M titles.

Montville's Jake Caskey edged David Colvin of the Old Saybrook/Westbrook co-op, 2-0, to win both the 138-pound Class S championship and the meet's Most Outstanding Wrestler honor. Host Windham won the team title (183.5) and Montville was third (163).

Newtown (Class LL) and New Milford (Class L) also won state titles.
