Plainfield — Olivia Lane had 14 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks to earn tournament MVP honors as top-seeded Norwich Free Academy downed No. 3 New London on Friday night, 53-45, to win its third straight Eastern Connecticut Conference championship at Plainfield High School.
Alyssa Velles scored a game-high 19 for the Wildcats (21-2). It was their 15th ECC title.
India Pagan had 12 points for the Whalers (19-4).
