    New London police investigate stabbing

New London — Police early Thursday morning responded to a reported stabbing at 70 Farmington Ave.

When police arrived at the scene, they saw a man, later identified as Jason Moore, holding a large wooden stick in the lobby area of the building. Moore complied with police commands to drop the stick.

Police said they saw blood spots on the wall and floor of the complex. Moore was not cooperative with police, but did say a friend of his had been stabbed and ran when police arrived. Police also said that Moore had a rolled up marijuana cigarette resting on the top of his ear.

Police searched the large complex and found an unidentified male victim hiding in a stairway. Police said the victim had cuts to his hands and a puncture wound to his chest area. Police said the victim was also uncooperative.

Moore, 31, of 70 Farmington Ave., was charged with interfering with police and cited for possession of marijuana.

The victim was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
