Police investigate Mystic restaurant assault

Mystic — Stonington Police are investigating an altercation between two men inside the La Luna Ristorante on Route 27 Sunday morning that sent one man to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of head and facial injuries.

Police said they responded to a medical call at the restaurant at 9:53 a.m. but when they arrived they found that an assault had occurred. The restaurant was closed at the time of the incident. It opens at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.

Police said athey are still trying to positively identify the two men, who may be restaurant employees, but were not cooperating with the investigation.
